Abstract

In the current digital era, financial technology (fintech) has become an integral part of society, particularly impacting Generation Z, who are born between 2000 and 2012. This study explores the understanding and experiences of Generation Z regarding fintech, focusing on their awareness and usage of digital financial services. Through interviews and observations conducted during a community service event in Tembilahan, it was found that most participants had limited knowledge of fintech concepts despite actively using various financial applications. The findings highlight the significant gap in financial literacy, which can lead to potential risks, such as misuse of personal data and fraudulent activities. Effective educational programs are essential to enhance their understanding of fintech, enabling them to utilize these services safely and efficiently. This research emphasizes the importance of structured educational initiatives to empower Generation Z in navigating the financial technology landscape.
