Financial literacy is a primary foundation for building community economic welfare, both in urban and rural areas. This study and community service project aims to map the level of financial literacy, identify investment problems, and provide financial management education to the community of Teluk Dalam Village, Indragiri Hilir Regency. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study method, data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with key informants representing youth figures, housewives, and MSME actors. The field findings indicate that the community's investment literacy is still relatively low, characterized by the dominance of conventional financial management, limited business capital, and vulnerability to financial crimes such as illegal savings schemes (arisan bodong) and illegal online loans. Nevertheless, the community has naturally implemented traditional wealth diversification through gold ownership and business assets. Financial literacy education interventions proved effective in enhancing public understanding and critical awareness to allocate funds rationally into legal and secure investment instruments.
Muhammad FauzanAsniati BindasYusriwartiMuhammad JalilDepita Permata SariSusanti SusantiHarbaim SeptiadiVira Mauliana

Kecamatan Kempas, Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir, Riau Province, is an area rich in local commodities such as coconut-based products, processed foods, and home-industry crafts. However, the low capacity of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in digital branding and packaging design has caused these products to lack competitiveness in the broader market. This community service activity aims to provide training on digital branding and packaging design for MSME actors in Kecamatan Kempas to enhance the added value of local commodities. The method employed is a participatory workshop, encompassing material delivery on branding concepts, digital marketing strategies, and practical exercises in packaging design using accessible digital applications. The training was attended by 35 MSME actors from various villages in Kecamatan Kempas. Results indicate a significant increase in participants' understanding of the importance of branding and attractive packaging, as evidenced by pre-test and post-test evaluations showing a 42% improvement in knowledge scores. Additionally, participants successfully produced packaging prototypes for their local products with enhanced visual appeal and market-oriented branding. This activity contributes to empowering the local economy by improving the marketability and perceived value of Kempas commodities.
WidyawatiAsniati BindasHelly KhairuddinSri HidayantiDharmasetiawanZulrahmadiBayu Fajar SusantoYaswar AprilianS.M Guntur

The financial literacy of informal sector workers in Rumbai Jaya Village, specifically farmers and MSME actors, remains low. They practice conventional investments, but the absence of emergency fund management often depletes their savings for sudden needs. This is exacerbated by a high vulnerability to predatory online loans and fraudulent investments. This community service aims to map financial literacy and educate partners in financial planning and mitigating illegal investment risks. Utilizing a participatory qualitative approach, the initiative was executed through a structured three-stage methodology: baseline mapping via in-depth interviews, personalized one-on-one educational interventions, and responsive evaluation. The intervention results showed a significant increase in the partners' cognitive awareness. MSME business owners and farmers began understanding genuine investment concepts, the urgency of separating emergency funds to protect productive assets, and developed critical vigilance against unauthorized investment offers. In conclusion, personal education effectively overcomes the lack of financial information in rural areas. The village government is recommended to collaborate with official financial institutions to conduct continuous literacy training, thereby strengthening the community's economic resilience.
Siti HadijahSyafrinadina SyafrinadinaR.
