Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve community empowerment in sustainable tourism management in Nagari Simarasok, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. The approach used is participatory by involving the local community in every stage of the activity, from planning, implementation, to evaluation. The methods used include training, mentoring, and counseling related to sustainable tourism practices.

The results of the activity show an increase in community capacity in managing local tourism potential, increased awareness of the importance of preserving the environment, and the development of creative economic businesses based on local potential. The challenges faced include limited trained human resources, lack of supporting infrastructure, and minimal support for further training, as well as closer collaboration between the government, community, and other stakeholders. With a sustainable approach, it is hoped that Nagari Simarasok can become a competitive and environmentally friendly tourist destination. sustainable from related parties.
